If you’re looking to get bigger, stronger, faster, not burn out, and have longevity in what you are doing, you need to be incorporating deload weeks into your training.

I take deloads every 3-4 weeks because that’s what keeps me feeling good, but taking one every 4-6 weeks works for the majority of people.

When deloading, volume, weights, intensity and the time you spend in the gym should all decrease.

Your body needs the time to rest, recover and rebuild in order for you to continue to progress.

Other than just the physical side of things, deloads are incredibly important from a psychological standpoint as well.

It’s not always about just resting and recovering our bodies, but taking care of our mental state too.

Feeling overly tired? Not motivated to train? Everything feeling heavy and slow? Feel like you’re hitting a plateau? Under recovering?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Probably time for a deload!

My advice to you would be to not let yourself get to the point of feeling like garbage in order for you to realize you need to take one.

Instead, be proactive and build them into your training!
